Block Lamp

When the Block Lamp, designed by Harri Koskinen, was introduced in 1996, design juries and lovers of beautiful objects took it to their hearts, where it has remained.

Inspired by industrial glass bricks, the bulb is encased between two heavy hand-cast glass blocks that can be placed on the floor or tabletop for ambient lighting.

With its unique features and Scandinavian touch, it has been part of MoMA, Museum of Modern Art in New York’s collection since 2000.

Toto Cube Lamp

An unusual lamp with an unusual story, the Toto Cube Lamp is made by a wine tank manufacturer in France. Toto can be used as lamp, table or seat. Place it bedside for a soft glow, or employ it in a retail setting to add a dramatic backdrop to the objects on display. It has successfully turned three products into one.

Chalk Board Mug

Doesn’t matter what your hot beverage of choice is, the everyday mug has now turned into a mode of communication. This ingenious mug is glazed with a chalk board surface allowing for easy-wipe messaging with a standard piece of chalk. So much better than post-its, it’s great for morning love notes to your sweetie, identifying whose mug is whose when you have a house full of guests, wishing birthday greetings… The list is endless. And could there be a more perfect gift for any teacher. Stick of chalk included. These mugs hold 11 ounces.

The Best

There’s nothing better than surprising someone with a little love and tenderness. (Well, other than being surprised by a little love and tenderness yourself!) And that’s what this little sneaky art project by Tamara Shopsin is all about. Guaranteed to delight and thrill whomever it’s bestowed upon.
